Fees & Insurance

Counselling for Women in Ontario & Manitoba

All of our counsellors are licenced to practice psychotherapy in either Ontario, Manitoba, or both. Psychotherapy services are covered through most extended health benefits . Ask your insurance provider if you're not sure about your coverage!

Fees

Counselling session fees are $130.  

No-Cost Counselling Services

Through the incredible power of women supporting women,  Counselling for Women & Girls is able to offer 10% of our therapy services as no-cost counselling for women with significant financial barriers to counselling.

Billing and Payment

At this time, we are not equipped to manage direct billing processes. All appontments must be paid for at the time of service by email transfer or credit card. Psychotherapy services are covered through most extended health benefits. An invoice will be provided for you to submit to your insurer for reimbursement.

NIHB - Non-insured Health Benefits for First Nations & Inuit

An eligible client must be a resident of Canada and any of the following:


  • a First Nations person who is registered under the Indian Act (commonly referred to as a status Indian)
  • an Inuk recognized by an Inuit land claim organization
  • an eligible client must have a status card number or
  • recognition from your Inuit land claim organization

For some clients, a self-government, or First Nations or Inuit health authority may be responsible for providing health benefits. An eligible client must use other available benefit plans (if any) prior to using this program.

Every year, clients eligible for NIHB funding can receive up to 22 hours of mental health counselling with an approved NIHB Mental Health Provider. (Additional hours can be approved on a case-by-case basis)

What is Covered

The program provides coverage for professional mental health counselling to complement other mental wellness services that may be available to clients or in communities. The program provides with coverage for benefits not available under other federal, provincial, territorial or private health insurance.
